The nearest beach to Casa Christabel y Casa Annabel
Situated on Benalmádena’s border with Fuengirola, Carvajal Beach is 1200km long and well known for its soft fine sand and calm waters. The beach is just a 15-minute walk from Casa Christabel y Casa Annabel (20 minutes on the way back as it is uphill, or 3€ in an Uber taxi).
The beach has earned the “Q” for Quality certification and Blue Flag awards each year, in recognition of its pristine sand and clear waters. Carvajal has all the amenities you need for your family to spend a day at the beach and has over 100 free parking spaces. Two Sunbeds and an umbrella may be hired for 10€ for the day from any of the churinguitos along the seafront, perfect for an afternoon siesta! There are also pedalos etc for hire and showers and toilets at various points along the beach.
There is a life guard on duty in the summer, continuously monitoring the coastline from his tower, situated towards the right-hand side of the beach (when exiting the underpass) where it is busiest. Please do not enter the water if a red flag is flying.
The beach can get particularly busy at the weekend during peak season, especially on a Sunday when Spanish families congregate for a picnic. This really is a sight to behold, as every generation is included and they often bring fridges and gazabos for the day! If you would prefer some peace and quiet, I suggest you turn left, where you will find a large stretch of less populated beach and some palm trees which provide some shade from the heat of the Andalusian sunshine.
