Once landed in Malaga, turn left in the arrivals hall and follow signs to the car hire pick up desks. Meet and greet type pickups tend to be on the right as you leave the terminal where you will see the luggage trolleys, under the tunnel.

From the airport carpark, keep right as you leave the airport to get onto the motorway which you need to follow towards Malaga. As soon as you see Motril and Almeria, follow that (don’t follow Granada straight away, as that will take you to the wrong motorway!). Be very careful as sometimes the righthand lane is the one that bears off right. The joining lane also occasionally keeps its own lane and so if you started off in the inside lane you will suddenly find yourself in the middle lane. Keep an eye on the overhead boards for your destination. At one point the motorways split (around 10 minutes after leaving the airport I think) you have to cross to the left-hand side of the motorway! Its easier than it sounds!

Slowdown in the tunnels as that’s where the speed cameras are (tunnels are usually only 80 kph)!
N.B. A stop sign in Spain actually means stop for 4 seconds and you can be caught by helicopters (and now drones!) Once past Almunecar, follow Granada which will take you up to Vélez de Benaudalla (your destination). The journey takes around 75 minutes.

Go through the village past the big church on the right. Turn left after the 4th speed bump, into Calle Alambique!). This is the last turning on the left as you leave the village (note the turning on the right to the Nacimiento). Then third turning on the left into Calle Picacho Columba.

Turn left if you intend to park in the garage or right into C. Sierra Lujar if you intend to park outside.

If driving from Granada and the North, join the A-44 towards Motril and follow signs for E-902/GR-3417/N-432/Atarfe/Albolote.

After 6.7 Km keep left at the fork to stay on the A-44.

After 23km take the exit 167 for N323a towards Acebuches/Izbor.

After 600m, at the roundabout take the 2nd exit onto Carr.Bailen-Motril/N-323a.

After 8.2km turn left onto A-346 and after 160m turn right onto A-4133.

After 1.8km turn Right into Calle Alambique and then after 70m take the third turn left into Calle Picacho Columba.

Turn left if you intend to park in the garage or right into C. Sierra Lujar if you intend to park outside.

There is a blue fob that you have to use to enter the underground garage.

You have to press this against a box on the left-hand side of the gates. It is bad design as you have to get out of the car! Our space is 161. You access the lift through a door marked B2 (follow the exit signs to find it.) You will need the longer square key for the lift. Turn it in the lock and press the button to summon the lift at the same time! I tend to have to press it a few times before the light turns red, but everyone else seems to do it first time!

If you prefer not to use the garage then instead turn right and park in Calle Sierra Lujar. There is a pedestrian gate, which you will have seen in front of you just before you turned right to park. The smallest key opens the gate (the key needs a bit of a wiggle) Turn right to find B block, (labelled with a b) immediately on your right, which is opened with the middle size key. The apartment is upstairs (or use the lift!) turn left and we are 41 (the big square key) There are light switches lit up on the walls about waist height (do not confuse them with the door bells!).
